Electrical muscle stimulation is used to help aid the body during the healing process. Treatments are great for facilitating healing from acute and chronic pain. This is done by sending a small electrical current into the affected muscle due to a muscle spasm or soft tissue injury. We utilize this electrical current in order to help reduce swelling and release trigger points that occur in the muscle. It works to relax the muscle and helps return it to its normal state fairly quickly. An additional benefit is that our body also releases natural pain relievers known as endorphins.
