How Botox works?
Botox works by blocking the release of ACH (acetylcholine) at the neuromuscular junction; thereby decreasing contraction of muscle and reducing dynamic lines and wrinkles of aging; Botox is not immediate, peak effect is day 5-7, maximum effectiveness last 30 days slowing decreasing over 3-4 months.
Ingredients: botulism toxin type A, human albumin and sucrose
Patient expectations: Botox reduces dynamic lines in the face. These are lines that show up when we raise our eyebrows, smile and frown. While Botox reduces dynamic lines, static lines may still be visible. Static lines, are the lines of aging seen with the face at rest. Over time, by reducing dynamic lines through Botox treatment, static lines will also soften. To speed up the process of reducing static lines, patients should also consider facial peels, micro needling and PRP treatments.
There are risks involving Botox. These risks include but are not limited to infection, allergic reaction, bleeding, bruising and unintended spread of the substance. Dr. Hoffman will decide if you are a candidate after your initial screening.
